Hey!
First of all, let me say hello to all the new blog readers who joined following yesterday’s FA-BU-LOUS careers crossroads presentation at De Montfort University in Leicester. It was such an honour to speak to you and inspire you to be whoever and whatever you would love to be. And another warm thank you for joining goes out to new readers from Business Networking International – I met some wonderful people there.
What I find over and over again with my clients and people I speak to about coaching and living your dreams is that when you poke a little bit, they know exactly what they would love to do, but somehow, past experiences or fear of failure is holding people back to follow their hearts. So today’s question to you guys is:
What is the biggest dream you have given up on?
For a long time I had given up on my writing, because I had a really awful boss when I first trained as a journalist. Let me just say his ways of ‘teaching’ were not the best. In fact, they left me scarred for life. But deep, deep inside of me I can feel that writing is meant to be a part of my life and I have decided to overcome my fears and start over again. My mind shift has gone from ‘I am just not that creative’ and a ‘can’t do attitiude’ to ‘I can be creative when I let myself’. Notice how the shift is only a subtle one? But it is one I can believe in.
Do something really small today to relight the fire of a long lost dream.
Because I believe in YOU!
Lots of love,
Jana xx
